Joe Connor is a British film director working across commercials, documentaries and music films. His work has been nominated for Cannes Lions, D&AD, British Arrows, Shots, Creative Circles, 1.4 awards and seven times at the UK Music Video Awards, and his list of collaborators includes Coldplay, Harry Styles and Sam Smith, Land Rover, Volvo and Louis Vuitton. His work for The Rolling Stones was selected for the British Film Institute archive in recognition of its cultural significance.

Alongside his commercial work, Joe has directed three feature-length documentaries, including A Message to You, a portrait of Terry Hall and The Specials, and Wild Wood, a film exploring the life and music of Paul Weller. Both received Gold awards at the 46th Telly Awards.

Originally trained in theatre direction at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, Joe brings a background in performance, storytelling and visual experimentation to his filmmaking, creating films that stay with the viewer.

Outside of filmmaking, Joe released a folk album under the pseudonym Vincent Sonder recorded at Paul Weller's Black Barn Studio and is one half of the electronic music project Supermodel, whose debut single Push, was nominated for a UK Music Video Award alongside Charli XCX, Fred again and The Chemical Brothers.
